My mother always had music playing in my house, and I’ve been singing since the cradle. If you have seen a toddler clutching a music book and pretending they could read while imitating the adults around them amazingly in pitch, that’s my kin. That as well as being a bookworm and educational programs on PBS and KCET is where my love of entertainment took root.
After attending Cal State Fullerton and graduating with a B.A. in Afro-Ethnic Studies. I worked largely in customer service: in retail, as a nursing home caregiver, as an archivist and office manager at a wholesale import glass company, as an audio visual technician, as a choir manager, and as a voice teacher. I returned to college to focus on vocal music and audio technology.
Currently I’m a Pathway Promo at Santa Monica college where I am embarking on the journey of learning video editing, as well as the ins and outs of entertainment marketing. There is so much that can be done to marry art and technology these days and I know I can bring my diverse background and skill set into this new field.
